Senior Technical Animator

We have a client in Redmond, WA that is searching for a Senior Technical Animator.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position. You will be an employee of our client company. No contracting involved.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain a high-quality bar for runtime animation.

Prototype and develop final-quality Unreal Engine animation blueprints, with grounded and fluid visuals that function in a high-latency, networked game environment.

Create custom tools and pipelines.

Qualifications:

Deep knowledge of Unreal Engine animation blueprints, blend trees and state machines or similar technology (e.g. Morpheme, etc).

Experience with motion capture data and processing.

In depth experience with creating and maintaining high-end runtime character rigs.

Experience with melee combat animation is a plus.

Experience with runtime procedural animation techniques is a plus.

Understanding of physics simulation setup and implementation (ex: cloth, ragdoll)

Experience with facial anatomy, rigging and FACS is a plus.

Experience creating and maintaining an efficient animation pipeline throughout a AAA production cycle.

Requirements:

Senior Level with 5+ years working as a Technical Animator in the video game industry.

At least one shipped AAA multiplayer title on console or PC platforms.

Proficient and experience with Maya (MotionBuilder a plus).

Strong working knowledge of both MEL and Python (additional languages a plus).

Strong technical background and a positive attitude.

Highly self-motivated and collaborative, able to help drive a character from start to finish

Ability to communicate effectively with animators, character artists, and engineers

Detail-oriented problem-solving ability.
